1. What is Chasm Crossing?
It is a youtube series that I am working on. It has been in the making for quite some time (since elementary if I want to go back to the initial idea (and when I fell in love with D&D)), and only recently has been under pre-production.

2. Okay, what is it about?
The story is about Tarik, a runaway, who chances upon finding a dimensional jumping dragon, Scylla. After losing most of her powers from a demon fight, Tarik is entrusted to safe-keep Scylla until her powers return. He soon learns though that befriending a dragon isn't as easy as he anticipated.

3. I'm interested! Do you need help in anyway?
Currently, I'm only looking for people to review my script when it is completed (expected to be completed in December). In January, I will send out a VA call for all my characters on my youtube channel [link below]. I will also be looking for soundtrack peoples.

4. What program do you use to animate?
I use TVPaint Pro and Maya 2013-2014.

5. When can I expect to see this film?
The first Part of the film will be released on the Friday of the First Week of May 2015.

6. Are you doing Voice Acting (VA) calls?
Yes, in January 2014. I will announce through a video on my channel, a journal here, and a journal in the group. It will be open until MARCH 31.

7. This is.... free?
Yes, the show I'm making is free. It is for my own personal growth in animation and story. I've always wanted to make a story about a boy and a dragon, but I have never come to terms with it until a couple years ago.

8. What influence you to do this?
It may sound silly, but my cat, Calico, is the biggest influence for this story. She was a once in a lifetime childhood pet that was the source of my family's entertainment and love. Her influence passed on and gave birth to Scylla and thus the story.

The other big influence for this story was 'Fullmetal Alchemist'. It is because of this story that I am currently an Anime follower. I was whisked away by such an incredible cast of characters and plot (both series and manga), but it was initially this line that drove home; "You'll have to decide for yourself. Walk on your own. Move forward. You've got a strong pair of legs. You should get up and use them." I realize I have the skills I need to tell a story, and I'm going to GOSH DARN follow through with it.

With much ahead of me, I can see Chasm Crossing evolving as I grow (and hopefully for the better).

For the past few months, loads of things have happened for me and Chasm Crossing. I have been focusing more on my job lifestyle now and focusing on making a career as a freelancer, more than ever. But as for Chasm Crossing, things have progressed into a new direction.

More than a month ago, my female VA for Scylla resigned from her role. This caused a set back in plans for a skit idea that I was going to play with, and any future endeavors I had planned for CC. So I announced that CC would go on Hiatus until I knew further more what to do with it.

And for the past month(s), people have voiced their enthusiasm for the series and have encouraged me to keep working at it or deliver to them CC. As I have slowly began to write Chasm Crossing from the beginning, I believe I have come to terms of turning it into a comic. After struggling to write it, losing a VA, and the trials of trying to animate it, I think I've realized that the idea would probably be better off turned into a comic (for a solo man team). The idea for the story is too long and too big for an animated series, and it is difficult to juggle animation professionally and animating a fun side project.

I won't dash hopes of having future possible animations with them. I am cooking something small animated wise with the duo that'll end up on my channel when completed, but so far, the animation possibilities with them are fairly low (sadly :( ).

But I am also moving on from this experience and into a new one. I have learned alot from Chasm Crossing and what it takes to make a series. Because of my experience with CC, I now know what I can possibly do and how to better prepare myself. I now have a new and upcoming small fun little animated project that consists of 2 episodes that I'll announce soon on my DA page (and that too will have its own little DA Group). Because of CC, I have learned what it takes to lead, organize, and make a project work. I also know what works for me and how I can get myself to animate the project.

I thank you all who have been patient with me and who has gone through this strange roller coaster with me. This was all a new experience, and an experience I'm glad I had. Chasm Crossing isn't certainly forgotten. Just think of it as taking a nap. :)
Sooooooo, if you haven't heard the news, then you can watch this.…

So what's the future of this group? Well, to still update you guys on Chasm Crossing. Despite not turning Chasm Crossing into a series, I will still work on it and also hint at future releases of small skits/scenarios with these two.

So this group isn't going anywhere, but it'll probably be not as active as it once was. I thank you all for following those update blogs, and being enthusiastic about the project.

instead of a series how about ONE movie around 30 minutes long or so? I mean, it looks like you' worked hard on a bunch of scenes...
I am still looking forward to this. :) I think one day you will have more time or just want to finish what you started and come up with a full story. Then maybe a comic, then maybe one or two episodes. It can happen. It looks like animating is your love and life. Keep on doing what makes you happy!
